Your journey starts in Santiago, Chile’s sophisticated capital, where old colonial barrios rub up against hip bars, cutting edge restaurants and a superb array of museums and galleries. Then it’s time to hit the coast, driving through sun-dappled vineyards and fruit plantations to colourful Valparaíso.

This lively port city has a bohemian vibe with a kaleidoscope of rainbow-hued houses, striking murals and alleyways tumbling down towards the sea. Flying south from here you’ll arrive in a very different Chile, a wild and unspoilt landscape of jagged mountains and craggy coastlines. Take in the views of the Strait of Magellan, the treacherous channel that separates the mainland from Tierra del Fuego, and travel by boat to the Marta and Magdalena Islands.

Amongst this thriving ecosystem you’ll encounter wildlife including elephant seals, dolphins and some 150,000 penguins. Then head high into the wilderness of Torres del Paine National Park; vast glaciers, crystalline lakes and ice-encrusted peaks are the backdrop as you explore by boat and on foot, for an adventure in one of the world’s most stunning landscapes.
