In Tibet they call her Chomolungma, ‘Goddess Mother of The Earth’. Soaring to 8,848m, Mount Everest is as impressive as it is imposing, and you’ll see it up close on this private one-week experience. Be prepared for aching limbs and altitude climbs, as you cross crystalline rivers and crane your neck at the myriad mountains around you. You’ll start in Kathmandu, the gateway to the Himalayas, beginning your trek by heading through rhododendron forest towards Dudh Kosi, otherwise known as the ‘Relentless River of Everest’.

Days Three and Four are spent hiking towards the mountain village of Namche Bazaar, then acclimatising to altitude in its varied surrounds. On Day Five you’ll make for Tengboche, a monastery perched on a dramatic high ridge with gasp-creating views to the 6,812m peak of Ama Dablam. On your final day, the trip culminates with an incredible flight high above Everest base camp by privately chartered helicopter. You’ll head up 5,545m to Kala Pattar from where most of Mount Everest is visible, for a once-in-a-lifetime photo opportunity high above the clouds.
