From Hanoi’s mesmerising sprawl to tranquil Ha Long Bay, this journey takes in the best of Vietnam’s varied sights. Start by exploring Hanoi’s streets on the back of a Soviet-era Minsk, taking in local delicacies, off-the-beaten track markets and, of course, all the main sites. The days that follow come as a complete contrast, as you cruise the misty waters of UNESCO-listed Halong Bay by traditional junk. Next stop is the beautiful city of Hoi An, a perfectly-preserved melange of temples and merchants’ houses set on the Coco river.
After a trip to the surreal stunning Golden Bridge (held up by giant sculptures of hands), you’ll head onwards to Ho Chi Minh, exploring its sights and districts by Vespa before speed boating to the Cu Chi tunnels, once the hideout of the Viet Cong.
